For the past decade or so, Phish has really had an off-again-on-again relationship with performing but, most recently, they have been performing, beginning by headlining Bonnaroo 2012 this past June with Red Hot Chili Pepper and Radiohead. Some of the covers they included in their set were The Velvet Underground's "Rock and Roll" and Kenny Rogers's "The Gambler." In what must have been quite a collaboration, Rogers, who had performed earlier in the day, joined the band on stage during the performance of that song.
Following that, the Vermont group announced a two-legged summer tour and, so far, things have been relatively tame – until this past weekend.
It has been reported that a 19-year-old female fan, who was naked, actually climbed up a 25 foot light pole and (surprise!) fell during their show this weekend.
Christina Das of Rochester, N.Y. is lucky to have survived but did break both ankles and one wrist in the fall. Of course, she was found to be under the influence of drugs and alcohol but is in stable condition.
Fortunately, that was the only major incident during the band’s three nights of shows at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center but police did bust at least 50 people with various types of paraphernalia including cash, guns and bath salts.
